What is Go Green Go Wild
Go Green Go Wild is an exciting new initiative by Maidstone Borough Council to encourage and support local people in looking after the nature that’s on their doorstep.
We want to help you create habitats, link wildlife corridors and encourage native species, so that wildlife can thrive throughout Maidstone.
The green spaces around us, whether an open meadow, grass verge, garden or even a window box, not only provide an attractive environment for us to live and visit, but also provide important habitats for an array of wildlife. From hedgehogs and newts to bees and butterflies, there are many important creatures that need a safe place to feed, grow and reproduce.
You can help nature!
We want you to help Maidstone be a borough rich in nature and full of wildlife. But how can you help?
Could you incorporate nature in a corner of your garden by mowing less or leaving an area to grow a little wilder? Or could you join or support a local nature group?.
There are many groups in Maidstone that are already enhancing Maidstone and helping nature and wildlife. Why not see what's local to you? Its a great way to gain ideas and knowledge and they are always looking for an extra pair of hands! Take a look at our groups page.
Maybe you have a vision to develop your own green space. There are lots of ideas to help you create a wildlife haven. From planting the right species to help struggling bees or creating bug hotels and bird boxes, Go Green Go Wild wants to help you find the advice and information you need to give a little back to nature.
